No Texting While Cooking!
A while back I wrote a post asking if you were guilty of texting while driving and in
cluded a link to some very graphic photos. I thought about those photos this morning. Why?
This morning while cooking my breakfast after getting the kids off to their first day of school, I was of course trying to do several things at once including texting with a client. At the same time I was kind of playing with my new Galaxy Note II that has a voice texting function. No more using the fingers, well for the most part anyways, it’s not perfect.
So while doing this, scrambling my eggs, grabbing and buttering the toast, my phone rings. I quickly throw the eggs in a plate, grab my toast and glass of OJ, and head into my office, phone on ear.
Nothing out of the ordinary for a lot of us I’m sure.
HOWEVER… After I wrapped up my breakfast, went upstairs to grab a shower and dress, my lovely wife yelled up at me as she was leaving. “Bye honey”, I said.. “NO” she says, “you left the burner on, on the stove!”
OMG I thought, OMG! That could have been disastrous! I could have burned the house down! OMG! I’m still shaking my head as I think about this.
So, no more texting for me unless I am doing absolutely NOTHING else. And I am considering myself and my family to be VERY lucky.
